To become an egg donor, you must meet these basic qualifications:
Please note that you'll be redirected to our secure egg donation portal to complete the application process.
Egg donation allows you to provide healthy eggs to individuals who are unable to become parents on their own. By donating your eggs, you’re literally giving the gift of family. People turn to egg donation for a variety of reasons, including couples struggling with infertility, or individuals in same-sex relationships who wish to conceive.
Hatch egg donor payments are based on your qualifications and how many times you’ve donated eggs previously. Typically, first-time egg donors receive a payment starting at $10,000. However, we also offer competitive price matching and often even improve upon other offered compensation, meaning we provide some of the highest compensation packages within the field.
Egg donation timelines vary, and we cannot guarantee that you’ll be selected as an egg donor. While the medical process takes around one month, the donation process requires a commitment of three to four months. These timelines are subject to change, but can provide a good estimate of what to expect.
No. This process is entirely paid for by your intended parents. You should not have any out-of-pocket expenses.
You won’t be just a number when you donate eggs through Hatch--we cherish your gift, and you’ll feel valued at every step of the way. As the first egg donation agency in the U.S., we’ve developed best practices and standards that are the envy of the field. You’ll receive full support from knowledgeable, empathetic referred doctors to staff members available to answer any question. Feel secure in knowing you’ll receive the support you need when you need it, from above-and-beyond compensation packages that include thoughtful gifts and personalized touches from our team.
This depends on the form of birth control you’re using. You can donate eggs if you’re taking forms of birth control including birth control pills, the nuva ring, the patch, and non-copper IUDs. If you have an IUD, you are eligible to apply under the condition that you have it removed upon the request of the IVF doctor when matching with your intended parents. If you are currently using Implanon or Depo-Provera for birth control, you will need to switch to one of the acceptable forms previously mentioned and experience at least three menstrual cycles before applying to become a donor. The wait could be as long as 3-12 months in these instances. Before you make any decisions about going off your birth control, consult your OB/GYN about changing your contraceptive.
While we recommend you have insurance for your own peace of mind should anything arise, you can still be a donor without it. Fertility treatment is mostly cash paid by the intended parents as very few insurance policies cover infertility care. Hatch will provide a complications insurance policy for the donation cycle to protect you in the event of any complications related to the IVF cycle which are very uncommon.
If you’re a donor at Hatch, you can donate your eggs up to six times. However, if you’re donating eggs for a sibling cycle requested by your previous recipient parents, you can donate over six times with medical clearance from the IVF doctor. Talk to your egg donation coordinator for more information about your specific scenario.
At Hatch, egg donors who we select are among the top 5% in the country. If you’re interested in becoming an egg donor, please fill out our egg donor application.
We screen egg donors in multiple stages. First, you must meet our egg donor requirements (unless there is a special case or circumstance). Then, we’ll verbally review your general health and wellness, family genetic history, reproductive health, and ability to physically donate your eggs through initial lab work, and possible ultrasound, pending your location. This helps us ensure that donating eggs will be a safe fertility treatment . Finally, upon matching we will screen you psychologically to ensure that you are comfortable with egg donation and that we have your full consent.
We will first get to know you and your values via multiple interviews, and during these you’re welcome to provide input of desired qualities or express any of your concerns regarding possible couples or individuals you match with. We also thoroughly screen the intended parents to ensure that they’re ready to be parents and can provide a stable, happy and healthy home life for the child if fertilization is successful. Finally, when a match has been determined, you’ll get started with the process and receive legal guidance from a referred attorney.
